Gone missing

Dear people who are stalking me… errrrr… my blog readers,

Though I might not have blogged on the wonderful world of the internet over the last 11 days, I have blogged to you in my mind. Talking to myself??? Nooooo, not me. I’m just blogging without my fingers typing away on the keys. I apologize. I’ve had so many exciting thoughts for you all to hear about – albeit, not exciting enough to remember…. *sigh* just as well.

Some things I do remember:

• I made a virtual chalkboard for my daughter & nephew’s birthday invite & I also painted our garage that’s really more like a shed’s door with chalkboard paint. I’m very excited for an outdoor chalkboard. I’m equally excited for my photoshop chalkboard.

• Last week I went on a wonderful excursion (that word alone makes it sound so exciting!) with my sisters & mom to a nearby town to visit Forever 21. You might have heard of it? Yeah.. I’m one of those shoppers, you know, the ones who love AMAZING deals…. And I am happy to say I spent more on myself *<cough cough>sponsored by other people – my brother and mom mainly </cough cough>* than I have in a very long time. I got loads of cute things.

side note: I am proud of my html humor… go ahead, laugh with me…. or at me, whichever you choose. :)

• My daughter had the stomach flu so badly that we were limiting her amount of water/liquid intake. No, we weren’t playing a game to see how dehydrated we could make her – she just wasn’t able to keep it down. She continually asked me over the course of the 12 hours she couldn’t keep even a teaspoon down (on her 3rd day of being sick mind you) “Mommy, can you go get me a big cup of cold watah?”– to which I continually replied “No H, you have to keep your teaspoon down before you can have a bigger amount. But once you do that, I will get it for you.” Minutes later… question repeated as though she had never asked it… yes she was a bit delirious and very thirsty. After hours of this going on she told me she needed to go potty but she did not want me to go with her, only to lift her off the couch. (She was so weak at this point she was needing to be carried if she got up at all). Confused,  I replied “okay” and slowly followed her as she slowly managed her way to the bathroom, knowing she would need my help. Surprisingly she turned around & told me she didn’t want me to go in with her and eyed me in the hallway as she carefully shut the door. Seconds later, I hear the faucet running and I open the door to find my poor sad child trying to drink water out of a bathtub toy! Seriously how sad is that?!?! Needless to say I took her hand, picked her up, and got her a big glass of gatorade that she proceeded to vomit all over. I will not have my 3 year old daughter thinking she has to devise a plan to keep herself alive. Point of that story? I’m not really sure. That’s probably why I didn’t blog it before. Anyway I can’t imagine what was going on in her little dehydrated head.

• The worst kind of Facebook status is a mysterious Facebook status. Especially when they don’t answer all the prying questions from ‘friends’ wanting to know what is going on.

• E is cranky. I’m going to go ahead and blame it on teething. Teething, ahhhh such a magical thing in parenting. Here’s the deal: runny nose, low grade fever, extra cranky kid,… all things that can be blamed on teething. It’s a great out for us to give our kids. Do we ever truly know if such things are caused by their teeth? Sure we do… after they come in. (But in all reality, her teeth are breaking through…. and she’s slobbering in gross amounts ;) ).

• Some people….

• I often find myself saying phrases like “kids these days…” and as the words slip out of my mouth I am slapped in the face with how old I sound. Note to self: I must work on my phrasing so as to avoid any further injury.

• Did you like my mysterious random thought? You might have predicted it was about something super juicy but really it was about how some people like ice cream and some people do not. I happen to be one who does like ice cream, and I’m not afraid to say it.

Okay I must go. Next time my friends, it won’t be so long in between my talking at you.

I love the idea of an outside chalkboard. I love the idea of any chalkboard for that matter.  I must work on one for my kitchen.  Your poor daughter who had the flu.  How sad.  This almost made me cry.  It’s so hard to tell whether a baby’s symptoms are truly caused by teething.  I hope Elyza isn’t keeping you up at night.  I am one of those people who likes ice cream, although I prefer it with brownies!  Thank you for the update!
